What types of facilities do you work with?

Answer: Detox centers, inpatient rehab facilities, outpatient programs, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and halfway houses. Services are tailored to the specific setting and its regulatory requirements.

Do you only work with facilities in New Jersey and New York?

Answer: No, services both online and in person are available not only nationally in the US, but internationally as well. Many services — including regulatory corrective action plans, policy development, staff education, CARN prep, and DON mentorship — are available remotely. Addiction nursing standards and related regulatory (Joint Commission, CARF, DEA, SAMHSA)  are largely consistent nationwide; state-specific regulations are addressed as part of any engagement.

We just received a citation. How quickly can you help?

Answer: Regulatory citations are treated as urgent. Reach out directly by email and include what you can share about the findings — a response and initial consultation can typically be arranged within 24–48 hours. Corrective action plans are developed collaboratively and documented to meet your agency's submission requirements.

How does the free facility assessment work?

Answer: The free assessment is a focused conversation — typically 30–45 minutes — to understand your facility's current challenges, staffing situation, regulatory standing, and goals. From there, a proposal is provided outlining which services would be most impactful and how an engagement would be structured. There is no obligation to move forward.

How are services priced — project-based or retainer?

Answer: Both options are available. Specific projects (a corrective action plan, new facility setup, or a staff education series) are scoped and priced per project. Ongoing support — compliance monitoring, DON mentorship, or regular staff education — can be structured as a monthly retainer or per project. Pricing is discussed after understanding your facility's needs.

Our nursing staff has high turnover. Can you help with both recruitment AND keeping them?

Answer: Yes — and addressing both is important, because recruiting without fixing retention just restarts the cycle. Services cover the full picture: recruitment support (job descriptions, screening, interviews), onboarding frameworks, competency training, and mentorship programs that give nurses the support and professional development that drives retention. The DON mentorship program is particularly impactful for improving team culture.

Can you help reduce our AMA (against medical advice) discharge rate?

Answer: AMA reduction is a specific area of focus. The approach starts with a root cause audit — AMA rates are usually driven by a combination of withdrawal management protocols, nursing engagement skills, and communication breakdowns between staff and patients. Services include protocol review, staff therapeutic communication training, and documentation support.

We need training for our nurses. Do you offer this?

Answer: Yes. Training covers such things as glucometer competency, urine drug screens, pregnancy testing,  patient education, orientation, annual training and other documentation requirements, and monitoring protocols for medications. Competency skills testing and documentation are included, which supports your regulatory compliance records.

We're a halfway house or outpatient program with no nursing staff. Can non-nurses be trained on medication monitoring?

Answer: Yes — this is specifically addressed with a Safe Medication Monitoring class designed for non-nursing staff in settings where clients self-administer medications without 24-hour nursing coverage. The class covers observation protocols, documentation, and when to escalate. Certificates and competency documentation are provided upon completion. Available in person or via Zoom.
